At Wheaton Wesleyan Church we believe strongly in the importance of helping to establish a foundation of scriptural understanding in a fun and safe environment. We want to provide an opportunity for your children and youth to make friends in the church while learning about the bible, and it is our desire that the hour that they are in Sunday School would be the most fun of their week. We do not take lightly the opportunity that we have to prepare children to be whole and effective disciples of Christ but acknowledge that this can only happen completely when we join together our ministry with what you do at home during the week. It is our responsibility as a youth group and as a Church to build up kids in their faith and to help prepare them for a life of Christian discipleship. In order to do this effectively we offer four children’s ministry classes during the regular 10:30 service hour that seek to meet your children’s needs most appropriately, and work to provide them with a strong foundation of scriptural understanding.

Early Childhood Ministry

We offer two early childhood classes where kids can learn about the gospel message in a fun and safe environment. These classes are geared specifically towards young children who are not yet ready to join our elementary classes but who still can learn valuable lessons from the Bible. These children are split up into classes for infants and for toddlers and pre-schoolers.

Elementary Ministry (K-5)

We offer two elementary Sunday school classes that are specifically geared towards their different age groups. All elementary age students will meet together for children’s church where they will sing songs and be taught a lesson. They will then be split up into early elementary and late elementary classes where their teachers will help them to further understand the lesson in a way that is best applicable to their age group. These classes provide an opportunity for children to make friends in their age group and to learn about the bible with a curriculum specifically designed for them.

Sunday School Hour Classes

We also have age specific Sunday school classes that meet during the 9:00 am Sunday school hour that work to further children’s understanding of the gospel in a manner that best suits them.
